Speaker:Patoomporn Chairat , Kwanruthai Sangsri| Location:Room 23| Date:August 11,2016| Time:11:15 - 11:45 am

In the age of digital technology, it is difficult to distinguish our everyday life activity from technology. The best way to do is to live with the technology and use it ingeniously. The power of technology have a great effect on educational context as well. In the light of English as a foreign language (EFL) perspective, teaching in formal classroom settings is relatively limited and unmotivated. For many years, it has been proposed that Internet-based learning (IBL) can be a good choice for adult learners for learning by themselves outside classroom. Therefore, this is an attempt to implement and describe the effects of IBL in an EFL course. In this study, a social networking was selected to be the medium for EFL training. At the first stage, the Internet and social networking usage habits of 78 Thai university students were investigated to find the potential of IBL. The results revealed that the students can participate in the IBL activities. At the second stage, the students were trained about some grammatical points from their lessons thought the social networking. The second report shown that the students were active and had a great motivation to practice English through the social networking. This is a good sign for integrating IBL in the EFL classroom.
